Biography

Giles started his career in karting over 15 years ago when he and his business partner, Dan, set up an off-road grass track on the Brentwood Leisure Park site.  Being a long-time motorsport enthusiast he put his passion for the sport into the business and it quickly took off.  2 years later the decision was made to tarmac over the land and Brentwood Karting was born.  3 years on and the natural progression was to add another circuit.  In 2002 Lakeside karting was opened - this time offering even faster, twin-engine Prokarts for hire.  Both circuits have grown massively year-on-year and over the past 8 years the group has become one of the most successful karting companies in the UK.

Giles' continuing battle to offer the finest karting available ensures that he remains extremely busy.

Biography

Time at Company: 7 years

Steve has been involved in running kart circuits for over 14 years and prior to his present role was Group Development Manager for approximately 4 years.  He previously helped set-up and then managed a large outdoor circuit in The Docklands, London and prior to that, an indoor circuit in The Midlands.    It is Steve's responsibility to oversee all general operations as well as to push the group forward with improvements and streamlining.  He has run many hundreds of races over the years, including large 'blue chip' corporate clients, and has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience along the way.
